Have just pulled the gearbox out of my Imola because of oil leaks from the rear. There is no pushrod seal in place {90400616}
I can not see how to retain seal in place as the hole just goes into the gearbox. What is the trick to retaining the seal?

Re: V35 Imola 11 gearbox
Hi Roger.
Do you mean part number 12 in "Tavola 8" on page 127 (according to my document reader) hier?
https://guzzitek.org/parts_list/pb/350_ ... Compil.pdf
That parts list is for the first Imola, but as far as I know, the gearboxes are the same as far as that seal is concerned.
The seal just sits in there. It is held in place by the parts on either side of it. There is no retaining ring as such. When the lever at the back of the gearbox is removed, you can just pull out the whole business.
Look here in section 8 on page 72
https://guzzitek.org/gb/ma_us_uk/V35V50 ... er(GB).pdf
It is badly written, or at least poorly translated, but there is no mention of any kind of retainer.
EDIT: the part number you quoted is this seal:
https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_inf ... cts_id=188
As far as I can see, that is part number 21 on the parts list diagramm that I linked to.
Once again as far as I can tell, it is referred to on page 71 in section 8.2 of the workshop manual

That seal is, if I remember correctly, at the front (clutch end) of the gearbox, not at the back.remove seal ring "L" from the shaft

Re: V35 Imola 11 gearbox
Thanks for that. So that means the seal just floats around on the pushrod. Which way round does the seal go on the pushrod. Flat side of seal to the front or rear of gearbox?

I don't remember which way round. You'll have to wait for Martin or someone else to answer that.

Re: V35 Imola 11 gearbox
I have just had another look at the inside of the shaft and can see the seal halfway down. Am trying to figure out how to pull it out and then I will try the O ring trick. Thanks for your help.

Re: V35 Imola 11 gearbox
hello,
mount the oil seal with the closed side out.
I have made a few videos
1. remove simmerring https://youtu.be/mEBJzxM2qmA
2. clean the liner https://youtu.be/CS3Uqu-vLio
3. install simmerring closed side down, the open side always to the oil https://youtu.be/7_rz4Bx6Orw
4. clean pressure rod https://youtu.be/85PuD413q6U
5. lubricate pressure rod (e.g. with Ultratherm) https://youtu.be/3HeT81AiMjQ
oil seal https://gpiu.de/simmerring-kup ... mod-5.html
ultratherm https://gpiu.de/ultra-therm-sp ... off-5.html
greetings martin
